Minimum rear yard required in the R-1 districts shall be twenty feet, except where combined with any B district. However, a portion of the main building may extend into the required rear yard not exceeding a horizontal distance of five feet, not exceeding one hundred square feet of gross floor area, not exceeding one story and not exceeding a height of sixteen feet.
