A. In order to ensure that the building department is provided with an opportunity to review the placement, construction, erection, relocation or alteration of any and all signs in the city, it is required, unless otherwise specified herein, that a building permit shall be obtained from the building department prior to the placement, construction, erection, relocation, alteration or otherwise of the sign.

B. Any person seeking to obtain a building permit shall provide the building department with any and all necessary plans, drawings or other materials or information required by the building department along with written evidence that a sign permit has been obtained. Following a review of the materials submitted, the building department may issue the building permit pursuant to the provisions of the UBC. A fee shall be collected by the building department prior to the issuance of any building permit. The fee for a building permit shall be as specified by department procedure. (Ord. 2023-05 § 3 (Exh.
