Within fifty days after the community development director accepts the application for filing, and after receipt of the report of the planning commission on the tentative map, the city council shall hold a public hearing to act thereon subject to all notice requirements of Section 16.08.050 above. The city council shall determine whether or not the proposed tentative map meets the requirements of this and any other applicable ordinances, including the local coastal program, and shall thereafter approve, conditionally approve or deny said tentative map.
